Roses are a perennial favorite among paper flower-makers, as they are suitable for so many personal design and decor applications. Beyond its sweetly scented blossom, the entire rose plant deserves appreciation for its many attractive parts—including the thorns! In this detail-intensive class you’ll create a branch inspired by vintage botanical prints, including hybrid tea roses and single-petaled wild varieties. Lynn will show you how to create bloom, bud, fruit, leaves, and thorns, as well as various coloring and texture techniques for creating a work of botanical art that carries your unique artistic signature. First-timers, do not be intimidated! This is an excellent introduction to a toolkit of paper flower techniques you can apply to other projects. You’ll receive a full set of templates and instructions to aid you in the replication of your graceful rose branch, and the skills and tools you pick up in class will help you make more in your home studio.
