October 28 - Sugar Skulls for Dia de los Muertos

95.00

In this seasonal class you will learn the traditions and techniques for making and decorating sugar skulls for Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead. These sweet mementos are given to children or are left on a memorial altar on November 1 and 2 as a fond remembrance of loved ones who have gone over to the other side. Bethany will show you how to mold the sugar skulls themselves, as well as some simple but effective decorating techniques using icing, papers, and Castle in the Air’s beautiful Dresden paper trim. You will complete skulls in several sizes for all of your memento mori needs.
