The precursor to Copperplate, Italic is an all-purpose calligraphic hand suitable for the most formal documents when written slowly and carefully, and for everyday writing when written more quickly and freely. In this one-day workshop, you’ll learn the basics of a style that originated in 15th-century Italy, reached its highest popularity in the 16th century, and is now in the midst of a full-blown revival.
