June 17 - Envelope Design

145.00

Envelope design brings together all of your pointed-pen knowledge into the creation of a beautifully addressed piece of mail. To take this class, you’ll need to know a pointed pen script for use in addressing your envelope. During this all-day workshop, you’ll learn some simple flourishing, leaf design, stem design, and how to draw a flower. Bill will then guide you through the process of adding color to balance and augment your lettering and designs. He will also discuss script size, how to design with your recipient in mind, and how to combine everything to create an appealing envelope. Envelopes will be supplied so that everyone is working on the same size. All other materials will be included, but if you have a favorite pointed pen and nibs, feel free to bring them to class. We will have some additional nibs available. For a final project, you will create a finished, fully addressed, flourished, colored envelope of your own design.
