Mar 22 - Celtic Knots

135.00

In Celtic mythology, knots symbolize the sacred geometry of the universe and the interconnectedness of all life. The knotwork dates back to the 3rd and 4th century BCE, and chances are that you have seen these designs in jewelry, paintings, and countless other works of art. Renowned calligrapher Bill Kemp will show you how easy it is to design and construct Celtic knot patterns of your own, from simple standalones to complex borders, as well as how to paint your designs so that they appear to have body and depth. This is a wonderful lead-in to Bill’s related course Broad-Nib Uncial on March 23–24.
