Peer through this windowed accordion tunnel and you will see a garden rivaling Eden. This unique structure was popular in the early 18th century as a parlour amusement. In this two-day workshop with John, you’ll learn the construction of this lovely apparatus and how to fill it with beautiful images that will transport you to a botanical paradise, embellishing the images with golden and interference paints. Johnʼs model uses reproductions of Maria Sibylla Merianʼs famed botanical illustrations, an assortment of which will be available in class for you to choose from. You’ll also have the opportunity to add images of insects and tiny animals associated with the plants pictured. All materials are provided, but you may wish to bring your own pair of very sharp scissors.

Fee: $135; includes all materials
